Born in Sevenoaks Kent, but raised in Cornwall, Oliver enjoyed the outdoor lifestyle and spent many hours surfing and riding bikes. Cycling took preference and by the age of 16 he was firstly sponsored to race the National Mountain Bike circuit. By 17, Oliver was sponsored by Scott USA and selected to represent Great Britain at the Mountain Bike world championships. However a bad injury halted the cycling career, but that merely allowed more time to concentrate on his photography and he started to shoot for an international bike magazine.
After studying photography at The Falmouth School of Art and then Cinematography at Bournemouth Art College, Oliver entered the documentary industry and produced a million dollar, US funded award-winning documentary about the legendary Abbey Road Studios. He also directed the opening helicopter sequence.
Oliver’s love for commercials drew him to Rose Hackney Barber where he learnt the ropes of commercial production, entering as a runner and quickly rising through the company. In just 3 years he became a producer before emigrating to Australia.
Australia provided the inspirational change required to follow his passion to work in the camera department. Here he secured a position on ‘The Matrix Reloaded & Revolutions’ as his first job leading to a wealth of experience working with the most talented local Australia and US crew.
With over 11 years of experience working on films, music videos and countless award-winning commercials, as well as assisting academy award winning cinematographers in Australia, Oliver decided to relocate back to the UK.
After assisting on Channel 4’s successful Top Boy 2, Oliver started to shoot for the likes of Lexus, HSBC, Sony and Jaguar to name but a few, on locations in London, New York, Canada, Mallorca and Texas.
